Old Glory

You know how you see something and you immediately think, "This is going to be a good day"...it happened to me today.

I pulled up to the gym this afternoon and immediately spotted what became my object of obsession for the next half hour. Let me add two things: 1) My legs are sore beyond belief, two days in a row of working out has taken its toll on my out of shape body. It is a struggle to walk down the steps, it's a good thing we have a railing for me to hold on to...it's bad, real bad. 2) The "it" that I am referring to is not a person. I am in no shape or form making fun of a person...just his choice of the "it".

So, where was I? Oh yes, pulling up at the gym. A man was walking across the parking lot to the entrance in what appeared to be MC Hammer work out pants, you know the ones...big, elastic wasteband, tight around the ankles. Not only did these pants stand out because of the cut(the pants are what I was referring to as "it"), they looked like the American flag....red, white and blue...even had the stars. To make matters worse, I noticed the guy had a grey handlebar mustache...just like Sam Elliot! It was too good to be true...I was in nirvana!!
I snapped a couple pics of the pants, trying to get only the pants. I succeeded, sort of. To my flag wearing gym buddy...you made my day enjoyable! Thank you.

Bill is out of town in Toledo, Ohio working this week. This has been the norm in our house for several weeks now. His union is in a contract dispute with the Blood Workers of the American Red Cross. To show our support, Cacy and I made a picket sign for her to proudly wear for the cause. I also included an adorable pic of our little dog after her bath tonight...she's so spoiled!

Day three of seven...almost halfway to my goal!
