Saturday, posted on Sunday

Yesterday, my friend Heather came up from Lexington to spend the day with me. It was her day, so she picked what she wanted to do in the big city. It's always fun being with my pal. We can literally do nothing and have the best time together.

First, We went to Costco (she'd never been). After piddling around in the wholesale center, we went to Hyde Park Square. This area of Cincinnati is filled with little boutiques, restaurants and million dollar homes. We walked through several little shops before meeting up with my friend Mindy (from VH1's Rock of Love Bus). Mindy is a childhood friend of mine who lives in the vicinity. We were adamant about grabbing a late lunch at my favorite sushi restaurant called "Dancing Wasabi". We pull up in front of the restaurant only to discover they don't open until 5:00 pm...it was 2:30 pm. After brainstorming for a while, it became apparent that most sushi restaurants are closed from 3pm until 5pm. Why, you ask?? Who knows...but it didn't fare well with our growling tummies.

We shopped for a while longer in Nordstrom Rack (the outlet store for Nordstrom, love it), Stein Mart, and TJ Maxx. Heather was on a mission to find a scarf for her grandmother's birthday.

Below are pictures of the cutest hat I purchased at Nordstrom Rack (which I might add had a $47.00 price tag, I paid $15.00 for it...couldn't pass it up, but wondered all the way home who would actually buy a hat for $47.00). Heather is holding the one of the scarves she has picked out for her grandmother's gift and is unaware of her middle finger pose...or at least I think she is unaware of it.

After nearly shopping ourselves silly, it was on to fill our bellies with sushi. And that, we did. Yum, yum, yum.

Once home, I snuggled in with "The Help"...it's the book I am reading by Kathryn Stockett, not the person who cleans my house on a regular basis (although, the book is about the maids of the 1960's).

Day one of seven...complete!
